FOR OVERWHELMED ENTREPRENEURS

Simplify your business.
Reclaim your life.

Everybody has a system—a way of doing work. Yours? It did the job. It built your business. But it's not designed for the reality it created. Dropping balls, firefighting, sleepless nights—those aren't symptoms of a bad business, they are a signal that change is necessary. Tailwind is not a prescription. It's a different approach to the work you already do.

Give me a day, and I'll show you what the future could look like.

"Life is better with the wind at your back."
"Working with Ryan means that not only will you benefit from his immense value but the value he builds in those around him. He is one of a kind and I'd work with him again in a heartbeat."

- Peter Barry (Digital Product Design Manager)

"There are only a handful of people in my career who I have studied in the hope of becoming a better manager and thinker. Ryan is one them. As a systems thinker, he is remarkable—creative in the foundational way that deep, incisive thinkers are creative."

- Kevin Fenton (Writer)

"Ryan is, frankly, a delight to work with. His curiosity, creativity, and innovative nature led to some of the absolute best project outcomes, team growth, and client satisfaction I've seen."

- Carolina Gwinn (Senior UX Designer)

THE MODEL

Tailwind

An operating model designed for the modern world. You know this world. It's the one that harvests your attention, drowns you in possibility, and clubs you over the head with reality. That world. We all live in it, so why not design a system to handle it. One that is simple to understand, adapts to new situations, and understands the pressures placed upon us.

Lightweight

Don't add weight—remove drag. A modular model designed for quick wins. Implement only the components you need and add on only when your situation demands it.

Flexible

We already invented a tool that works for everyone in all situations—we call them commitments. Using them lets us design a model to meet the concerns of today and grow with your ambition tomorrow.

People First

This isn't some hollow cliche. Like it or not, people are essential to your business. They're also notoriously change-averse and hard to wrangle. Why not make everyone better at their job?

THE IMPLEMENTATION

Refit

/rēˈfit/verb

1. To restore or modify a ship's structure and systems to prepare it for a new, longer voyage.
2. To upgrade an organization's operating model to transition from daily survival to enduring prosperity.

Session 1

You wear a ton of hats. Let's take them off your head and get them on table. We need to know where the business is—not where you wish it was. It's the first step towards effective change. It'll feel good—I promise.

Outcome: clarity.

New Rituals

Reality  has a nasty habit of getting in the way. The least you can do is meet about it regularly. Change is annoying, messy, and inevitable. Let's give you a way to pin it down. It's a small change with huge upside.

Outcome: confidence.

Session 2

Now you can start thinking about your future,  without an overwhelming sense of despair. Whirlpools are a thing of the past (ok maybe just less dangerous)! Your goals shouldn't scare you, they should excite you.

Outcome: energy.

THE RESULT

Mutual Purpose

Culture is a shared ideology. Complexity kills culture; simplicity scales it.

Tailwind is simple by design, ensuring the model is actually shared.

Once everyone understands where they're going, how they'll adjust, and who they serve, you achieve mutual purpose.

That's the definition of alignment.

If you've read this far, it's time.
